Kemppi’s Employees Manufacture Top Quality Under LED Lighting

In winter 2019/2020, the production facilities of Kemppi’s Lahti product factory and in spring 2020 the outdoor lighting of the product and electronics factories were renovated to LED luminaires. The area of the production facility was about 9,000m² and the area of the outdoor area to be illuminated was about 37,000m².

Kemppi is a world-renowned family business in the welding industry that develops intelligent equipment, welding production management software and expert services that support these. The comparison of the possible luminaires took into account, among other things, energy efficiency, investment price, warranty period and the seller company’s product and service references.

The customer’s most important criteria for lighting renovation were energy savings and a reasonable payback period. The energy efficiency of new luminaires is significantly better. The good color reproduction and color accuracy of the luminaires were taken into account for precise assembly work and side glare was sought to be minimized.

– In terms of lighting efficiency, the interior was a great success!

– In terms of lighting efficiency, the interior was a great success! Outdoors, due to the choice of luminaire type, the number of luminaires was increased by seven and the lenses of the pole luminaires were replaced with the widest possible lenses, says Kemppi’s Property Manager Jari Manninen.

In the lighting of the production space, it was decided to mainly replace the old 250W Multi-Metal Luminaires and a few T5 Fluorescent Luminaires with FL-UFOH LED Pendant Luminaires. In yard lighting, many different types of luminaires were replaced with FL-SB2 LED Luminaires. The luminaires were replaced by a separate contractor. The replacement of the luminaires was planned already at the procurement stage, which ensured the smooth installation.
